The Grape Escape

Our Mission

Our Mission

Providing Adult Day Support, Vocational Habilitation, Recreation
and Non-Medical Transportation Services to persons with Developmental Disabilities.

The Mission of The Grape Escape is to provide Adult Day Support, Vocational Habilitation, Recreation and Non-Medical Transportation Services to persons with Developmental Disabilities. We work cooperatively with Agencies that provide services to these same individuals, up to and including Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Ashtabula County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Medicaid and Medicare.

One most major Mission of The Grape Escape is to provide Complimentary Lunches and Laundry Service to our Elderly, and Persons with Cancer and/or Life Threatening Illnesses. Our Individual’s will be making and delivering Lunches, and Washing, Drying and Folding their laundry during the time when they are most in need. We believe that The Grape Escape offers Individuals with Developmental Disabilities a great opportunity to enhance the skills that they so desire, or may already have, and to offer Compassion to a Community in need. The skills each consumer develops will be in line with each Individual’s Service Plan (ISP), with the anticipation of taking each person to his and/or her highest potential. The policies and procedures of The Grape Escape are intended to ensure the health and safety of each Individual. The annual Individual Service Plan meetings will initiate the collection of the information relevant to prescribing an ISP consistent with identified desires of the Individual.

The Grape Escape is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Complimentary Non-Medical Transportation is provided to our Individuals both to and from work. This transportation will also allow the opportunity for them to access community activities which include, but are not limited to, Shopping, Dances, Bowling, Movies, Fine Arts and other Community Outings as outlined in their ISP.

To ensure coordination between The Grape Escape Management, the Individual, the Parent and/or the Guardian and the County Board(s) of Developmental Disabilities, prior to The Grape Escape employing and/or transporting any Individual, there shall be an initial, then annual thereafter, meeting to exchange information relative to the employment and transportation needs of the Individual.

The Grape Escape does not discriminate in regard to race, color, religion, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicap.
